Moving Forward

I’ve finally gotten through that part of BECOME: TO CATCH THE LIGHTNING that I’d already done in first draft.

The last few chapters are still a bit rough–as rough drafts are apt to be–but I managed to confine myself to only making changes for consistency.

So now, I’m ready to move forward with new chapters and try to actually get through to the end of the first draft. That’ll be fun!

In other news, the audio version of THE SHAMAN’S CURSE is finally here!

I’m planning out how to promote that, which will be a new experience for me.

Audio Book Review

I’m a little late blogging today because I waited until I could report that I’ve completed the review of the audio book files. Yay!

Reviewing Audio Book Files

It takes longer than you’d think. It’d probably be quicker if I could just download them and listen while I’m doing something else. But, for this, I need to be reading along. And, it turns out, I’m not capable of just sitting at my computer for twelve or so hours–even if I didn’t have other things, like my day job, to interrupt.

I’m about two-thirds of the way through and generally loving it. Hope to have it done this weekend and sent back for the few small fixes that will be needed.

That’s mostly what I’ve been doing, writing-wise, this week.

Multiple Projects

I’m still working on the first draft of BECOME.

But my time is being split right now as I’m also reviewing recordings (chapter by chapter) for the audio book of THE SHAMAN’S CURSE.

I love the narrator’s work on this, though it’s taking longer than either of us projected.

My process is to listen to each chapter first. And then to listen again while reading along with my copy. So it takes some time to listen to ten chapters. This is the second batch of ten chapters.
